Yesterday, we decided to visit the park for a couple hours to get some updates, and photos for the new ZOOMED IBOnce again, Saturday turned out to be the same attendance result for the park as with march 19. Upon visiting, we encountered line after line of hour long waits. However, the water rides and goldrusher had little to no wait at all! Superman: EFK was being a weather wimp once again, and was closed due to the weather, which wasn't rainy at all? Anyway, from now on, Magic Mountain is open everyday!
It's Friday! Fun-Fun-Fun! Like The Extreme Zone! And did you know that it will be getting THREE challenges that will replace the current ones? Yep, one is a returning challenge- THE RIDDLER RETURNS! The Riddler is back, ready to riddle. Two new challenges are also coming including ZOOMED IN! and another. But I can't tell you what it is yet though.. Although i can say that it ties in with the new DC Universe area and involves a DC Theme. If you think you know what it is, enter your guess here > . They're all up there now! Check em out! There is also other surprises for the Extreme Zone so stay tuned.
We're also looking for photos of coasters to be featured in the Ride Guide photo galleries. Of course you'll get credit, so if you have any send em' our way here > . There's only about two weeks left to enter your coaster idea into the IMAGINE! contest. Oh, and our Facebook page is about to strike the Big 1-0-0! To be part of the action and to help us reach 100, 'LIKE' us now > As I said earlier, I wasn't a west coast basher, but I did happen to visit the park with some friends. First off, March 19 is probably the Most packed I've ever expereinced the park, besides Memorial Day Weekend. The first signs was the many people in the plaza before the entrance to the park. the bathrooms outside had lines, Season Pass processing had a long-queue, will-call had a long wait, and the gates were busy.
Of course, this was foreshadowing of the long waits for the rides. X2 had a 2 & 1/2 hour wait like Tatsu, Superman: EFK had about an hour wait, while the othercoasters had hour waits mostly also. The water rides opened yesterday, and didn't have long waits since the day was moslty cold temps. The Sky Tower is pretty much emptied except for a few things, and Primo's Pizzeria had a lot of business. WhistleStop Park opened yesterday also, and was deserted. The new 2011 Park maps are out now and reveal Green Lantern, DC Universe, the new restaurants, new entertainment and more. oh, and apocalypse finally got it's permanent sign. Yesterday was our first trip to knotts berry farm in at least five years or so and nothing could have went better! As expected, the park was virtually empty, aside from occasional tourists and some elementary school groups. this being said, all the rides were pretty much walk-ons, aside from Supreme scream and Xcelerator at about lunch time. Knotts is a lot different and in some qualities, stronger as a theme park than magic mountain. the flat rides offered a great variety in rides, along with the TYPES of coasters they had. Xcelerator was probably my personal favorite, and behind that Ghost rider and Sierra Sidwinder. Boy, is that one fun! Let Magic mountain use Knott's Sierra Sidewinder as an example of an awesome intermediate ride! The people REALLY all left in the evening leaving us the only ones on rides and in areas. Windseeker construction looks well underway, with the ground completely dug out for the concrete base to be put in. See the photos here >>
