Yesterday, I visited Magic Mountain and also picked up my 2011 "Thrill Pass". I thought they changed the name to Thrill Pass this year? My pass still says 2011 Play Pass? Anyways, when we got there, it was already pretty busy but not as busy as weekends or summers but still crowded. We got there at about 11:00 which probably explains it. So, after we bought the passes we skipped the processing because the line was TERRIBLE, and first went to Colossus, at the time having no line. After that, it was onto Apocalypse, and then over to Samurai Summit. Ninja also had a long wait, which was odd since they were running two trains? We waited about 15-20 minutes, then it was onto Viper and Revolution, both which did not have any lines. Then, it was out of the park to processing which still had a long line. Note- Purchase them online. The online line was moving A LOT FASTER than the purchase at thhe park line. Luckily, the employee offered to take ours in to renew them so we wouldn't have to wait. She came back in less than 2 minutes with the new passes, with everyone else in line staring probably out of jealousy? Once we got back into the park, we headed over to Colossus County Fair to eat. On the way, we saw thay Yosemite Sam's Sierra Falls was demolished and removed, probably for construction. Rides after that were Riddler's Revenge, Batman, Viper, and Revolution to end the day. And at the very end in the parking lot, we noticed a firetruck racing through the employee road to the staff lot, with an ambulance behind it. Something must have happened??? Well, we saw nothing when we drove through the staff lot, which also showed no sign of new coaster track (which is where it usually is).
Okay guys, we've only got about 5 more days till the New Year, so let's end it right. First off, I'd like to start off by saying thanks for making a great first year in operation for Planet SIX. The site has grown to where it's at now, mainly because of our fans. The next thing, is now since 2010 is almost done with, so is our our old slogan or motto: "Uniting Six Flags Fans." A lot of you have probably noticed this as the site's signature at the bottom of the page. Now for 2011, the new slogan will now be: "Bringing the Magic of the Mountain Online." It really gets the message across clear of what the site's intentions are. So keep an eye out for the transformation.
For all of those who follow Planet SIX on Facebook, you might have read earlier today that the Ride Guide is set to finally debut on January 1, 2011. I think it's the perfect way to ring out the new year, especially with the new rides coming in. Oh, and for all of you Club SIX members out there, the first ever Club SIX MemberChat Conference is in the works for some time soon. A lot of you have pointed out that hardly anyone is online when your online, which is why set dates might work better? This is only the first, so bear with me here. And lastly, new additions to the Fun Stuff page are on the way including Quiz Central. If you think you're the ultimate Magic Mountain know-it-all, try these quizzes and see if you really are. So, that's the last blog post of 2010..... See ya in 2011! Hooray for the holiday season as it brings us fun, days off, and daily park operation through January 2. Just as long as this rain doesn't hold up through the week. Maybe you noticed that Magic Mountain closed yesterday AND today due to the inclement weather being experienced and fore-casted. But it shouldn't be too bad, since they are open for another two weeks. While the park is hunkered down for the rain, Planet SIX is still running, and so is the FlagQuest. Were just about on the final stretch of the quest and there's three left! That's three chance for you to earn those flags. And if you're lucky, you might even get TWO flags for a quest if you win the random drawing. There's still time too. The highest someone's at right now is four flags. Oh, and Project HH20 has already gone under construction with the foundations for the section already set up. Remember, Hurricane Harbor only opens next June, so it might not be unveiled for a while. I'll keep you updated though till' then. And lastly, don't forget to try the fun stuff challenges before some new ones are introduced for the new year. And you know what the new year means right passholders? Only two weeks left to use those 2010 Season Passes!
We all know that come summertime next year, most people will be picking up their season passes and heading over to Magic Mountain. But, Summer 2011 is probably going to be a scorcher in Valencia just like every year, which is why a lot of people will be hopping into their cars in their swim gear to hit up Hurricane Harbor next door. And as you can tell, Planet SIX isn't prepared much for water park planning. So, we're proud to introduce our newest project coming in 2011: Project HH20. Yep, it's not a typo. It's Hurricane Harbor people! To get geared up for the busy Hurricane Harbor season ahead, we've decided to add WATER park info along with SFHH park hours, pricing, ride info (yes, which means a ride guide) and more. So basically, it's like adding twice the fun to the site. Keep your eye out next spring for some major additions. Also, any of you who visit the site via a mobile device may have noticed that the site is now available for viewing in mobile mode. This way, it's easier to view, without having to zoom in or move around to see stuff. The site features has simply been compacted. But if you like the normal site, then go right ahead since there should be two options. Oh, and if anyone was wondering about that Christmas music on the home page I was talking about earlier, certain internet networks have trouble playing it. So if you're having difficulty hearing it, it may be your network like Safari or something. Tip: Google Chrome is an excellent Internet tool.
**Thanks to all of our fans! Monday was the busiest day for the site once again!** I visited Magic Mountain on Saturday! It was a pretty fun trip to end the 2010 Six Flags season too. Minimal lines, and Christmas stuff! So anyway, this weekend is the annual Toy Drive the park puts on where guests can bring in a gift ($15+) to get free admission. This obviously attracted a lot of people which led to a pretty crowded park that day, but in the morning to a little after lunch there were minimal lines. So, when I got there, it was about 11:00 and most people were still getting there. It looked like everyone just went shopping because of all of their bags and toys! KTLA 5 News was also at the front of the park to help with the collecting also. Since all of the water rides were closed including Log Jammer, we went over to Batman first, then over to Colossus & Scream!, all which didn't have lines at that time. Then it was back Goliath's way where we also noticed Thomas Town was closed (probably for re-branding) and the all-new Pistachio Park across the way was well established but still closed off. Maybe this is a new sitting/ resting area? Oh, and I do have to say Superman looks very nice with the new color scheme. Simply awesome! Can't wait to ride it!! And no, there was no sign of Green Lantern that I saw in both the parking lot or in the area where it will be in.
After that, we headed over to Movie District which is when the crowds started to emerge. The Riddler's Revenge had probably an hour's wait due to single train operation, which is why I used the single rider service. Goldrusher was also pretty busy too. Ninja had one of the longest waits in my visit history at least, with the line stretching out of the queue. Ninja and Riddler's Revenge were the only ones with single train operation by the way. Terminator was down for some reason but reopened short after. Other than that we made a couple rounds aound the park, and rode mostly everything that was open. The plaza was decorated for Christmas with lights, garland, and decorations and we even saw Santa with Mrs. Claus being driven to the plaza stage in a decked out golf cart too. Anyway, it was a great day and a lot was done in the little time the park was open. See the pictures here >> It's officially the holiday season and it's starting to show.... Crowds at the local shopping centers, maybe some snow falling right about now, and also Planet SIX! We've unrolled the holiday decorations and made the site a bit more festive than usual. For one, the headlining banner showcases some great photos of the park's coaster lights, and the Magic Mountain snowglobe. Another feature that has been added is holiday tunes on the home page! Everytime you visit the home page now until Christmas, you'll here a Christmas song that you may or may not know! But don't worry, that's only on the home page and nowhere else if that's not your cup of tea. And for your conveniance, the park map was added to the park info section in case you want to check that out too. And FlagQuest 2010 is coming along very well, with two quests already out! Remember, the race is on to get all six flags by answering each quest correct!
