Hey everyone- It's Sunday, and January is almost about to wrap up. We still have 11 months to go before 2012 and a lot is on the way. First, with Magic Mountain. Superman: Escape From Krypton is up and running (for testing!) and is going to debut on March 19th. Video of it testing can be found on our YouTube Channel. Second, is the Roadrunner Express, formerly known as Little Flash also debuting March 19th. Last weekend, crews were excavating foundations for the new coaster. And lastly, Green Lantern is set to debut Memorial Day Weekend, in Gotham City Backlot. Trees, shrubs, and Batman's old queue have already been removed from the site.
And now on to Planet SIX news... First up is Club SIX. As you all know, Club SIX will be re-opening on Saturday, February 5th as a WHOLE NEW EXPERIENCE! This includes a forum, member profiles, events, photo sharing and more. Your definitely going to want to be there for that. The Ride Guide has also shown improvements, including that of the new User Comment box system. This allows users to "review" the ride or simply comment about their experiences. And FYI- If you happen to see some Ride Guide pages looking different, that's just part of our re-stylization tests. And also- Quiz Central will debut to Planet SIX on Saturday, March 5th, exactly one month apart from Club SIX's debut. Quizzes will include both online versions, and printable versions. So that's the scoop right now, and if I were you I'd be first in line to sign up for the new Club SIX in two weeks. EPIC. So, Saturday was our first visit to Magic Mountain for 2011 and it certainly revealed a lot about the future. Now, to keep it nice and short, I'll post some pictures that highlight the major changes at the park. Some of these included remodeling of attractions, closures, and construction. It was pretty busy for being a weekend during the off-season. We didn't ride much, so this was a very minimal visit, but still pretty cool.
See the Video + Photos >> JUST RELEASED- Club SIX is receiving an exciting new renovation into something- BIGGER-BETTER, AND BRIGHTER! Club SIX members will have to sign up again, sorry for the inconveniance, but it's a brand new operating system.. The club page will be a WHOLE NEW layout and design than Planet SIX and will feature more hands-on features to club members. It will be modeled after popular social networking sites like Facebook. Members will be able to have their OWN profiles, add other club members as friends, update their status on their wall and more. Other new features will include the Members-Only Forum, Members-Only Photo Gallery where members can submit their pictures of the park to share in the gallery. The chat is very similar to that of Facebook, where it will show all online members throughout the club. The Coaster Counter will be removed as a club feature in the new layout however. Plans for it to be relocated to Planet SIX are in the works. The NEW Club SIX is set to debut this February to fans
Hello everyone! It's time for that good ole' blog. And featured today in the blog is going to be an update on Project HH20. For those sleepers, who missed the news release, Planet SIX will unveil the ALL-NEW Hurricane Harbor section of the site just before Hurricane Harbor season officially starts! So anyway, this might seem like a long time away, but in reality it's only a few months. And a few months of waiting for never-ending Hurricane Harbor fun??? Yeah. Back on track, some nice features to look forward to is the slide reviews. We be ridin' them slides, and writing stuff bout' em! Not just us though. You'll be able to write your own reviews for the slides. And you know how they always say good things comes in twos? Well they do and that same user review feature will be coming to the Ride Guide this summer as well. Another feature will be the Slide Guide. Just like the Ride Guide but.. *eternal silence*.. WITH SLIDES! I told you good things comes in twos! And the one and only Project HH20 section to be unveiled right now is the park info section. There's more to said though. So keep it on Planet SIX. Hey guess what?? Planet SIX now hhas it's own OFFICIAL Twitter! That makes our Facebook page AND Twitter page. So all you Tweeters, get following. Oh, and also, I've made the months of April and May- ROLLERCOASTER APPRECIATION MONTH! Yes, I know that's two months, but it's one combined event. More on this later though. Seeya for now!
The first official blog post of 2011 (excluding trip report)! And right now, I'm ready to announce some cool things happening at Planet SIX. Starting on Monday, the operating schedule for the Fun Stuff section will be changing course. To increase the number of challenges a week, a new riddle and photo for both challenges will appear each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. That's almost THREE new challenges each week! Also starting soon will be the official club chats for Club SIX members on MemberChat. The chat conference dates are currently posted on the Club SIX page. These are optional, and a fun way to talk coasters with others. But. that's not all for Club SIX! Club SIX has teamed up with the theme park fan club, Theme Park Coaster Club! For a limited time, all club members will receive a promo code for membership into TPCC! The promotion has not began yet, so don't worry if you don't get the code yet! And for all of the forum members who noticed the new term, I've taken it back, and the forum is back to normal. Just don't make all your thread topics your username. More new stuff is still on the way this year, so don't snooze it yet! Stay tuned!
I was gone for a few days up in Northern California to visit some of my relatives, while I also visited Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and California's Great America (it was closed but I still stopped). Instead of doing a normal trip report like I usually do, I'll change it up a little bit and share some of my photos. **Keep in mind that it was poor weather, freezing more than ever, and very wet. Some of the following pictures might show that.
