There has been some peculiar sights that have been seen at Magic Mountain recently, including the old Sierra Twist location, and Gotham City Backlot's sign removed. The intro Gotham City sign cannot be seen atop the arch anymore according to forum user, SFMMCrazy. This could mean many different things, whether it's small like a re-paint of the sign or a big change like an area re-theme. Could this be caused by the new Green Lantern which is very close to Gotham City Backlot? And the other thing happened to be a garden at Sierra Twist's former location. Earlier I had thought that this might be the new location for Little Flash, but since there is a few trees planted there in the middle, this is probably not the case. Six Flags corporate recently met up with their investors for a presentation overview of the company on November 4. In the presentation, Six Flags went over the new additions to their parks for 2011 along with Magic Mountain. The opening dates for the three new coasters are: Green Lantern opens Memorial Day weekend; Superman: EFK opens during Spring Break; and Little Flash opens sometime in early May. Along with the attractions overview, they also discussed the financial standings of the theme park chain which have went up since a few years ago. Guest satisfaction has also gone up significantly this year over the past four years in cleanliness, safety, and value perception. This shows us that Six Flags is doing pretty good in the market financially right now, which should benefit the parks in the future. And last but not least- The theme of the mysterious new wild mouse coaster for Six Flags New England has been featured in the presentation- Gauntlet Coaster, themed after crime with cars themed like police, cabs, and villains.

Looking to get wet at Magic Mountain this off season? If so, then don't be counting on that soaking fun to be available during your next visit to the park this winter as Magic Mountain's water rides say bye-bye till' next spring. According to the park website and park officials, all of the water attractions but Jet Stream are expected to be closed until next spring because the demand for these drenching rides is declining. However, this is a first to have all but one of the park's water rides closed for winter. If you may remember, last year only Tidal Wave and Roaring Rapids were not operating. This change certainly could have an effect on off-season attendance as these attractions are a huge part of Magic Mountain's list of family rides and just rides all together.
Recently, Magic Mountain released their 2011 operating schedule! Everyday operation begins March 28, which to some is the start of the season, and daily operation ends September 5. The 2011 season starts one week later then this year, and the holidays have remained the same. One notable change for next year, is the Saturday hours (except July's) have lessened by one hour closing at nine, as compared to this year's Saturday hours closing time at ten. We all know that Saturdays are the park's peak day of the week, so whether this is a big change or not, is up to you..
