Background
Revolution opened on May 8, 1976 as the world's first steel coaster to successfully feature a 360 degree loop. The coaster debuted as: The Great American Revolution, and later shortened it's name to Revolution. It was featured in the climax of the Universal film, Rollercoaster, along with also being in National Lampoon's Vacation as "The Whipper Snapper." In 1996, a train hit and killed a passing part-time employee when she was crossing the tracks. According to reports, she was thrown below the ride structure where she later died. The American Coaster Enthusiasts named the Revolution a "coaster landmark in 2002.
