This really gets me pumped for Fright Fest. Before you ask, Magic Mountain releases their Fright Fest information via the new website on September 14 (which by the way is supposedly the largest). Anyway, Six Flags just released their first Fright Fest themed website featuring witty information, detailed backgrounds and back stories on the mazes and attractions.
The parks are definitely taking a major turn on the event this year. For one, Discovery Kingdom now offers 5 mazes compared to year's past of having only a few. The parks are also renaming most or if not all of their major rides' names to fit the event better as well as adding a backstory to them. The only mystery we haven't cracked is if the backstories and new titles hint at possible theming in the queues. After all, numerous of them indicate that something or someone is ''beneath'' the ride or along those lines.
Whatever it is, it's a big step for Six Flags in growing Fright Fest for years to come. Besides.. This fits a lot better than one solitary page on the standard site overviewing everything. If anything, I'd rate this higher than Cedar Fair's Haunt sites only because of the extra attention to detail (don't get me wrong; there's is cool as well).
