Thursday, flocks of invited ethusiasts, media personnel, and bloggers attended the Green Lantern: First Flight Media Preview Day. Upon arrival, most of the event guests had already arrived, and were gathered in the overflow lot where we were instructed to park.
Officials had checked everyone in at the tent and had distributed the wristbands, Green Lantern rings, and the cards with the Green Lantern oath. At about 10:45, they led us through the back behind Scream and through the park backlot. From there, we entered the park at Colossus County Fair where it was gated off from the regular park-goers. Greeting our eyes, we were taken in front of the curtain-drawn DC Universe for the unveiling.

The crowd waited for about 5-10 minutes until eleven o clock when the first ceremony began (watch here). Although shorter in length than the second ceremony for Green Lantern, it served as a fantastic introduction to the area. Already filled with selected riders, all the area's rides were going and we followed the Justice League characters to the Green Lantern zone.
The festivities in the ceremony (watch here) included the usual intro by park president, Bonnie Rabjohn, and a special appearance by Green Lantern writer and Chief Creative Officer for DC, Geoff Johns. After the Green Lantern character kicked off the ride, the mob of anxious riders swarmed the entrance.

As the majority of the attendees queued up Green Lantern, we stuck around the outside area to chat and take all of these photos of DC Universe. The line wait was slower than normal due to filming on the right side of the cars and the coordination of that which caused the line to move very slow.
To let the line clear, we grabbed a bite to eat at the new Teen Titans Tower Pizza which was free on Magic Mountain (thanks Six Flags)! After doing so, we finally proceeded to the queue, which had cleared pretty well.

The inside of the queue building was well-themed and designed, except for the fact that the two fan propellers on the ceilings circulated hot air making the wait very tiresome. I also noticed that the queue inside didn't have enough trash cans, something they forgot, or weren't prepared for that day.
I finally was able to dispose of my soda cup in the station, before I boarded. I was a single rider, so I was hoping that maybe the park would install a service like on Riddler's Revenge and others. The lift up to the peak of the coaster was extraordinary, providing a different perspective of the surrounding park. The height is decieving from the ground, but climbing up the cable, it looks pretty insane.

As tame as the drops and the dips look from an offride standpoint, they really move you in your seat. As a tip, any future riders should hold on tight to brace themselves. Anyone who's been on it, can agree that those short drops will shake you if not prepared. The car only did one complete flip at the closing brake run which was the roughest part also.
Despite this, the coaster sure packs a punch in thrill for it's size, and offers the most fun experience hitting the level of X2 in greatness. Numerous fans have asked of lockers or storage cubbies specifically for the ride, but Green Lantern has nothing. The Batman locker station is very close, so we recommend using that if absolutey necessary. To wrap things up, Green Lantern is a mind-blowing thrill coaster set in an incredible themed area. This will be the coaster of the summer everyone.
