In a little piece of Magic Mountain history, we discovered that the park passed on a chance for one of Six Flags' indoor Dark Knight coasters in 2008. According to an article, the park was considering the ride and had a possible area to place it in, but later turned it down. As we know, Apocalypse came the following year in 2009 which doesn't account for the family coaster (unless Apocalypse IS the coaster) that Magic Mountain said they were focusing on. Maybe it was an early concept of Roadrunner Express? It all began however, when Six Flags New England moved forward into construction of the ride without the permits even being approved which of course brought them to cancel the coaster. Either way, I like Apocalypse and I think it was a great installation, but I wouldn't have minded a whirl on the Dark Knight either. The only question that I still hold is where was this so-called possible location for the ride? Was it Psyclone's former space? Flashback's area would've been tremendous..
