Testing commenced about two days before Saturday say park officials for the new Superman: Escape From Krypton. Saturday was the first day for public testing during an operating day, gaining much publicity for the rollercoaster. The left side was the only side running, with the brand-new car. Testing did not include the common water test dummies, as the car was empty. Taking off about every five minutes, Superman caught the eye of several guests, causing an employee to guard the gated off plaza on Samurai Summit. According to park supervisors, Superman will only be receiving the one new car, as the ride will operate with one side backwards, with the other still forwards with the classic car. The new car features Over-The-Shoulder restraints, and is painted a jet blue color. Superman: Escape From Krypton will open March 19 before Spring Break.
